TGIF

Ever have one of those days when you just couldn't get going--like you needed a jumpstart just to get out of bed? I'm having one. I've gotten the boy off to school, but I'm still in my jammies. I usually begin typing around 8. It's 7:52, and I'm starting to think about it. That, and a lot of other things. I've discovered working from home takes discipline. Even with your fanny stuck to the chair, you have to make up your mind you're going to get a certain amount done each day or the internet, e-mail, blogging, surfing, and gaming take over. Amazing what you can find to do without ever leaving your office chair--pay bills online, balance your checkbook, build a myspace page, watch videos, do research, play word games, download free programs and music. I could go on...but I fear it is only another ploy of mine to keep me from the drone of doctors' voices and the click of keyboard keys.

So with that in mind, I leave you with this quote from an American Poet, winner of 4 Pulitzer Prizes: The brain is a wonderful organ. It starts working when you get up in the morning, and doesn't stop until you get to the office.

Can you guess who said that?

Oh, I know this one!

The real question is--should I be the first comment.....with the right name...and foil the suspense????

Hmmmmmmm.......

I'll think on it for a bit!

Have to do a few errands--including a pre-blizzard grocery run. We're expecting the worst snow storm in this decade! As usual--my refrigerator stock leaves much to be desired; so considering we'll be spending the next six or so meals stranded inside...I better get to it!

I'll check back later...but for now, the initials are RLF!

I don't know who said that, but it's a good quote. I'm feeling a slow start to my day today, too. Maybe we could declare it Jammie Day.

I work from home, too, and there are many days that I begin work in my jammies and discover that at 10:00 a.m. I'm still in them.

I don't know who said it, but it sure is true! I think my brain has been mush all week! LOL!

I'm glad we're not expecting a blizzard. It's a gorgeous day in the 60's here. Jammin Friday sounds good to me. Maybe we should do it every Friday? Thanks for stopping by Heather.

Thanks for visiting my page. Just wanted to let you know that I have enjoyed my trips to Paris. I haven't met un unfriendly person yet. Seems like a nice place to live. I just need to get by to see that Eiffel tower. I am working with Dr. Andy Lundberg over the next few weeks. If you happen to need a gallbladder removed I may run into you.

Well, Dave, I've already had the joy of having mine removed. The Eiffel Tower is over in Memorial Park off Volunteer Drive. They are considering moving it downtown I hear. Hope you make it by to see it.

And yes, Diane. That famous quote is from Robert Frost.

Unfortunately, I have to up and dressed and in my office by 7:30. I usually get there by 7:00 so I can do personal stuff that's easier there than at home with all the little munchkins around.

I often think it would be nice to work from home, but I may have a bit of trouble with the self-discipline part.

Kevin and I have put up our #3 of our journey THROUGH addiction!

My whole year has been like that. It has been one stress after another both at work and at home. I think things are finally winding down, but then again, our freezer croaked yesterday.

Hang in there.

Great quote.

I also like the one that goes something like this:

"My day was going wonderfully... until I got up."

The best part about working at home is not having to wear a uniform.
