Thanks for stopping by The Wreath for a little visit. If you like what you read, feel free to browse the archives. I'm sure there are some long forgotten posts buried in there that you might find worthwhile. I started this blog a couple of years ago (Has it been that long?) to help me sort through a lot of things I was going through, and I have found it quite helpful for sorting out those feelings of frustration in my journey of self discovery. Worship Wednesdays feature the wonderful studies and devotions of my sister, Carla. She has been a blessing and inspiration to me. I'm sure you will find her a blessing as well. Don't be a stranger and feel free to jump in with insights any time!

Just Before Dawn

Light Shining Out of Darkness
by William Cowper

God moves in a mysterious way,
His wonders to perform;
He plants his footsteps in the sea,
And rides upon the storm.

Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up his bright designs,
And works his sovereign will.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take,
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy, and shall break
In blessings on your head.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust him for his grace;
Behind a frowning providence,
He hides a smiling face.

His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.
